For over 25 years, Sports Plus /Carmen Don Bowling Pro Shop has been serving the needs of professional and recreational bowlers in Virginia, Washington, DC and Maryland. Owned and operated for the past 25 years by Bruce Merriman, an accomplished bowler and business man, whose passion for the sport is evident every aspect of the business. Inducted in 2000 in the NCAUSBCA Bowling Hall of Fame, Bruce believes in a  no non-sense, yet professional and highly technical, approach to running the shop.

This is why the International Bowling Pro Shops and Instruction Association (IBPSIA) named Bruce Merriman "Operator of the Year". 

 

Staffed by a pleasant, highly trained and highly skilled crew. Every staff member  knows the intricacies of the sport and each one is qualified to advice and recommend the equipment that's right for you.

 

The store manager, Jimmy Lewis, himself a 1997 Bowling Hall of Fame inductee, started there as a teenager two decades ago, shares Bruce's passion for the sport his staff-centric approach and continues to operate the shop with the same integrity and professionalism. Together, Bruce, Jimmy and their staff continue to offer unparralleled service, selection and expert advice for bowlers all over the Washington Metropolitan area.
